FAQ

What are the different types of planning permission?

A full planning permission is the most common type and it covers everything including drawings, site maps and documentation. Outline planning is used in places where a site is sensitive and the applicant wants to check with the planning authorities

When do I need to apply for planning permission?

Generally speaking, most building projects need planning permission unless it is stated specifically that that project is exempt from planning. Small internal pieces of work don't need planning and larger projects which veer outside the current structure don't - but there are some grey areas with large scale internal work so it's best to check first.

What is a BER Certificate?

A BER Certificate is an indicator of the energy efficiency of a building. It covers the energy usage in heating, ventilation, lighting etc. The certificate has a scale from A to G, A rated buildings being the most energy efficient.
